From 14 to 21 January in Geneva will have three big time show.
Tomorrow will be opened the 15th World Exhibition of high watchmaking and jewelry (WPHH – World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie), which is organized annually by the Swiss watch brand Franck Muller. C 14 to 21 January in the town Gentil on 120m2 factory myullerovskoy Watchland nine brands will present their new collections.
Main role is assigned to an enhanced version of the Giga Tourbillon from Franck Muller, presented at last year’s Basel. By tradition, the complete exhibition of fireworks and a gala concert featuring the stars of world music.
Following January 15, will begin its work of independent watchmakers Salon (GTE – Salon Geneva Time Exhibition). This year it will be the third time and will bring together 40 brands, among which meet such famous names as Alpina, Frederique Constant, Louis Erard, Pequignet, RSW, Saint Honore, Welder, Zannetti and many others. In addition to the wrist and pocket watches on display will be presented for winding boxes and a removable panel with a clock for a smartphone.
During the exhibition will be declared winners in two categories: The GTE Superwatch Award and The GTE Design Award for the best improvement and best design, respectively. On the last day, January 20, all models for the first time will be publicly available not only for professionals but for all to see.
The biggest event in the world clock, anticipating Baselworld-2012, will be the opening of the 22nd International Salon of Haute Horlogerie (SIHH – Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie), which will take place next week. The exhibition runs from 16 to 20 January. Despite the fact that it is absolutely closed event, organizers expect about 12,500 visitors and 1,000 journalists from all over the world.
Their best model will present 18 world-renowned brands: A. Lange & Sohne, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, JeanRichard, Girard Perregaux, Greubel Forsey, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Officine Panerai, Parmigiani Fleurier, Piaget, Ralph Lauren, Richard Mille, Roger Dubuis, Vacheron Constantin and Van Cleef & Arpels.
This year the exhibition is devoted to the outstanding part of the clockwork, established since the Renaissance to the early 20th century.
Museum of Art and History in Geneva is a large-scale exhibition entitled “Art of Watchmaking in Geneva. Magic crafts, treasures of gold and enamel” – a unique collection of antique clocks and miniatures with enamel paintings. After completing the SIHH these works can be seen in the museum until the end of April.
